Four wandering elves -- a princess, her companion, and two rogues who assist the women -- see a welcome sight.

While I never wrote this story or illustrated more than a few isolated scenes, these characters -- their personalities and designs -- and their story formed the foundation of Sharpclaw without my noticing.

From left to right: The black-haired elf (almost entirely blocked from view) with the fairy on his head was a the first version of what would become Trenchant Droll. The green-clad elf blocking him from view was the first version of what would become Zeal Sharpclaw. The blonde princess became Lily Lightail. The green-eyed elf took many iterations to become Loden.
