Look, a seahorse!

Actually, I first thought about drawing Velvet as a seahorse, and then I considered the hippocampus (myth, not brain part), and wound up with a traditional mermaid design.

Or, rather, a very 1980s mermaid design. I did not notice her 1980s glam look until I was adding the finishing touches. Well, of all my characters, Velvet most would enjoy dressing in 1980s glam.
